Bhopal, Jabalpur STFs team nabs most wanted poacher from Gujarat

Jasrath Pardhi alias Ratan alias Yaralen Luzalen was involved in smuggling of around 30-35 tiger skins. n He was absconding since last six years 
 
In a major breakthrough, a combine team of State Tiger Strike Force, Bhopal, and Regional Tiger Strike Force, Jabalpur, nabbed the most wanted poacher involved in dozens of tiger poaching incidents and absconding since last six years. The arrested poacher was involved in smuggling of around 30-35 tiger skins which were trapped by Nepal Crime Branch on China border in January 2013. Arrested poacher has been identified as Jasrath Pardhi alias Ratan alias Yaralen Luzalen (30), a native of Bijadandi village on Jabalpur-Mandla border.
 
He was arrested from Anand Railway Station in Gujarat. Jasrath Pardhi is a traditional hunter tribe and active member of Inter-State racket of poachers. He was involved in poaching of more than two dozen tigers at Kanha and Pench Tiger Reserves in Madhya Pradesh Maharashtra. It may be noted that the one of the tigers’ skins seized on China border was matched with T-13 tigress who was mysteriously missing from Pench Tiger Reserve on MP and Maharashtra border. Jasrath played was involved in poaching of T-13 tigress at Pench in February 2013, another tiger in Nagpur Forest in June 2013, a bear and tiger at Melghat Tiger Reserve, Amravati, poaching of bear at West Mandla Forest in January 2013, poaching of bear in West Mandla Forest in March 2013 etc.
 
Assistant Principal Chief Conservator of Forest and Incharge of State Tiger Strike Force, Bhopal, Ritesh Sirothia, talking to ‘The Hitavada’, informed that continuing a rigorous search for Jasrath they received information that he was sighted in Gujarat. Taking prompt action on the information, a combine team of State Tiger Strike Force and Regional Tiger Strike Force Jabalpur reached Gujarat on October 10. Continuing a search, strike force succeeded in trapping the accused at Anand Railway Station in Gujarat with the help of Gujarat Crime Branch.
 
He informed that around six poachers working with Jasrath were earlier arrested but he was missing since long time. Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Madhya Pradesh, U Prakasham (IFS), talking to ‘The Hitavada’, informed that continuing a rigorous search for Jasrath they received information that he was sight in Gujarat. Taking prompt action on the information, a combine team of State Tiger Strike Force and Regional Tiger Strike Force Jabalpur reached at Gujarat on October 10. Continuing a search, strike force succeeded in trapping the accused at Anand Railway Station in Gujarat with the help of Gujarat Crime Branch. He informed that around six poachers working with Jasrath were earlier arrested but he was missing since a long time. PCCF, Prakasham informed that the apprehension of Jasrath will reveal several other poaching and anti-wildlife activities in Madhya Pradesh and other adjoining states. He will be produced before the Special Court in Jabalpur and efforts will be made to take the accused on remand for further investigations.
