CENTENARY year of Shradheyay Dattopant Thengadi will be observed from November 10, 2019 to November 10, 2020. Thinker of Nationalist Economist and Founder of Mazdoor Sangh & Kisan Sangh, larger union of the India will celebrate the event throughout the year. Thengdi complete the education upto LLB after that he worked as a Pracharak of Rashtriya Swayan Sewak Sangh from Kerala till October 14, 2004. In the social life he addressed many organisation and guided them specially Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh and Bharatiya Kisan Sangh. Congress and leftist unions were mainly working for labourers and farmers. But there was a need of union that could work on Indian ideology.
So, the unions for workers by workers of the workers, formed in the name of BMS and Kisan Sangh and they are biggest unions of India. In emergency Dattopant worked hard against the emergency and brought all the thinkers under leadership of Jaiprakash Narayan Lok Sangarsha Samiti. In 1990, huge agitation against WTO under Dattopant leadership was abosorbed. Swadeshi Jagaran Manch was formed to fight against WTO. It supported not only India but all other developing nations. The impact of agitation was such that talk in WTO ceyatal failed.
He said,“the developing country should follow their own values. Thetre is no need to adopt modernization blindly.” To spread the thinking of great philosopher, thinker, economist and make the people aware of Thengadi’s work, the centenary year will be celebrated.
A committee at national level ‘Shradhyeyay DattopantThengdi Janma Shatabdi Samaroh Samiti’ was formed under the Presidentship of Sumitra Mahajan, Former Lok Sabha speaker. The committee consist of all knowledgeable persons from all corners of society. Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat will inguarate the function on November 10, 2019 at 3.00 pm at Reshimbagh, Nagpur. All the concern unions will organise different programme throughout the year to take the thought upto the last person. All are invited to attend the function. Closing ceremony of centenary year will be held in Delhi on November 10, 2020.
