Inspite of regular dengue larvae survey dengue cases are still rise in city. On one hand health officials claims this year’s extended monsoon season for dengue rise, on the other poor awareness for dengue fever precautions are also reason claims denizens. Main problem of Dengue larvae is in areas in Kolar, where fogging machines are taking time to come and releasing of Gambusia fish is also not happening in stagnant water ponds. Especially as lot of construction activities are taking place good number of areas are seen where water logging is usual and in such areas due to less space fogging machines are unable to enter in congested areas of Mandakini, Sarvadharam colony, etc.
Now suspected cases of swine flu are also getting witnessed and with onset of winter season swine flu cases are also expected to increase. Health department is now forming team to monitor swine flu cases as well. In last three weeks the total number of positive dengue cases has come close to 250 and the figure in city has already caused 1022 cases.
Last year November recorded 259 cases of Dengue and this year the figure has increased to 310 in November. As per health department on an average three to four cases of Dengue fever is being deducted. Colonies in Chauksey Nagar, Saket Nagar, Char Imli, Shahpura, Vaishali Nagar, Mansiha Market, Aradhana Nagar, Kotra are certain areas which is already under helath department scanner. Bhopal Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr Sudhir Dehariya said that the health department is monitoring the situation and doing every effort to control it. District Malaria Officer (DMO) Dr Akhilesh Dubey said that due to rains this year dengue larval count has seen growth however regular survey is being done.
In State capital as of now total five suspected deaths due to dengue fever has happened but health department has stated that only two deaths were because of dengue. Malaria Department jointly with Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) have constituted teams and conducting door-to-door survey in different zones of the city to check the outbreak of dengue, Malaria .It has been observed that the areas where denizens keep their water stored are more prone for mosquito bites. The BMC squad while taking the action is also spraying pesticides through fogging machines at the respective areas and at homes as well and now drones will be used for fogging as per Bhopal Municipal Corporation officials.
