Baghel orders enquiry into Radiant Way School incident

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel ordered enquiry into the incident at The Radiant-Way School, wherein a girl had sustained serious injuries after falling from second floor of the school building while taking part in adventure sport camp on Tuesday. On the directive of Chief Minister, the enquiry will be carried out by Collector, Raipur. Thousands of people met Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday at the weekly Jan-Chaupal programme and expressed their grievances, in response to which the Chief Minister gave instructions to authorities concerned to redress the grievances.

On request of delegation, led by Bhilaigarh MLA Chandradev Rai, he announced Tehsil status for Bhatgaon. Forest Minister Mohammed Akbar and Women and Child Welfare Minister Anila Bhediya and other Congress MLAs and leaders were present on the occasion. During the Jan Chaupal programme, a delegation comprising parents as well as Members of Chhattisgarh Palak Sangh met the Chief Minister and gave a detailed description of the incident which had taken place at The Radiant Way School. Alleging negligence in the holding of adventure sports, they urged the Chief Minister for thorough enquiry into the matter.

It is worth mentioning here that an 11-year-old girl of The Radiant Way School sustained serious injuries after falling from second floor of the school located behind Pt Ravishankar Shukla University under Saraswati Nagar police station, during an adventure camp being held in the school campus. After the incident the girl child was rushed to All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS), Raipur, where she is under observation of doctors in ICU.

As many as 400 students of the school were participating in the adventure camp by paying Rs 1000 fees. During the Jan-Chaupal programme on Wednesday, the Chief Minister sanctioned financial aids to several needy people. He sanctioned Rs 1 lakh from his discretionary fund for higher education to R Yishu Dhurandar, a resident of village Jara in Balodabazar district, who scored 93.6% marks in 12th board exams in year 2018-19. He sanctioned Rs 1 lakh to Saraswati Women SHG of village Halahuli in Raigarh district. The Chief Minister sanctioned Rs 25,000 each to Rameshareen Dheevar from Raipur and Bhagwat Nishad from Aarang as financial aid.

He sanctioned Rs 50,000 to Sharda Mishra for her daughter Vibhuti Mishra’s education. He also sanctioned Rs 20,000 to Lakshmi Bai Sahu from Patan, Durg district for fancy store, Rs 10,000 to Nandini Sahu from Dhamtari, Rs 5,000 to Nana Bai and Rs 20,000 to Vishal Sahu from Raipur. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel sanctioned Rs 1.50 lakh each to Paralympic sportspersons Rohini Sahu from Bilaspur and Harihar Singh Rajput of Kawardha, for participating in international tournament, who have been selected for paralympic international wheelchair fencing tournament to be organised from February 20-28 in Thailand. The Chief Minister issued instructions to Collector Raipur to get the roof of Shashi Kumar Uikey’s house repaired. Shashi Kumar, a resident of village Kathiya, in the district showed picture of her dilapidated house to Chief Minister and requested aid for repairing the roof. Chief Minister directed Raipur Collector to get the roof of Uikey’s house repaired. On the occasion, Raipur (West) MLA Vikas Upadhyay and Bhilai MLA Devendra Yadav handed over cheques of Rs 1.10 lakh each for decoration of Mata Kaushalya Mandir and its development.
