Driver killed after hywa laden with gravel rams into culvert

DRIVER of a hywa laden with gravel was killed after the vehicle rammed into a culvert. The driver died on the spot as the steering wheel pierced his chest. Impact of the collision was so intense that the truck was divided into two parts and fell under the culvert. The mishap took place on Thursday morning at around 4 am when Hywa (MP 20 HB 3797) was heading to Katangi and rammed into Surtalai culvert under Madhotal police station. According to Madhotal police station, on Thursday morning they were informed about a hywa laden with gravel rammed against Surtalai culvert.
 
On being informed cops reached the spot to take stock of the situation. They found the vehicle divided into two parts, one part beneath the culvert while another was on the road. Carrying out rescue operation with rescue team, the driver was found trapped inside the cabin on the steering wheel. With great difficulty, the driver was taken out but he had succumbed. Accordingly, cops carried out further investigations and made panchnama and sent the body for autopsy to Government hospital.
 
At the time of panchnama, the deceased driver was identified as Sachin Singh Thakur (40) a resident of Pauniya of Majholi area. The hywa truck is registered with Neeraj Prahalad Singh, a resident from Majholi. Identifying the deceased driver was very diffuclt. A case under relevant sections of IPC has been registered as further investigations are underway.
