RAIPUR,
Bharatiya Janata Party while reacting to the five questions put forth by CPCC President Mohan Markam on paddy procurement, stated that instead of asking BJP, Markam should ask Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel as to when he would commence paddy procurement. The BJP maintained that the Congress in these 11 months of its governance has done nothing but deceived people through misleading statements and shunned away from its responsibilities.
In a communiqué issued by BJP State Spokesperson Sanjay Shrivastava, it was stated that the Congress through its confusion policy tries to enjoy governance, which is happening in Chhattisgarh. Accordingly, many such questions are before the CPCC President but is trying to mislead people by raising issues, whose answers are also with him. It is worth mentioning here that CPCC President Mohan Markam had recently shot five questions to BJP on paddy procurement. Through his set of questions, Markam asked whether BJP, in its Sankalp Patra issued ahead of 2013 Assembly elections, had promised procurement of paddy At Rs 2,100 per quintal along with Rs 300 bonus per quintal for full five years or not.
Whether the BJP had sought permission from the centre ahead of making such announcement. After embargo was put on paddy bonus in June 2014, why did the then BJP government distribute bonus to farmers in 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17. Why did the embargo on paddy bonus was lifted in 2017 and why it was again imposed after Congress came to power and why are BJP leaders from the state shying away from urging centre to remove the said embargo. The BJP Spokesperson although didn’t answer the queries raised by Markam, but stated that the Congress government in these 11 months have failed on all fronts. On one side the Home Minister is taking review meeting on Law and Order and at the same time incidents of loot take place in the capital.
The PCC President should answer as to why Chhattisgarh is gradually being converted into Crime State. He said that instead of raising questions on BJP, the Congress should at first answer the queries being raised by people. In order to hide its failures in all fronts, the Congress is raking up such irrelevant issues. Before election Congress had promised Rs 2,500 per month as unemployment allowance but it failed to launch the scheme. It had promised waiver of cent percent agriculture loans, but again the State Government failed to achieve it. Shrivastava said the Congress is running the government in a very undemocratic way. He said that the CPCC President should at first raise question against the Chief Minister for these failures. The BJP will be asking the questions on behalf of people. However if the Congress wants to play the role of opposition, then it can very well resign from the government and sit in opposition.
