Dr Srinivas Bhaskar Chaganti, a Mechanical Engineer from Andhra Pradesh has come up with a unique invention that generates electricity without use of conventional fuel or energy. “KAMMA gear flywheel power generation concept is the world’s first power generation technology which uses weight, diameter and RPM instead of natural energy and fuel,” said Dr Chaganti to The Hitavada. Kinetics Associated Mass Mechanical Applications (KAMMA) that is heat, work and internal energy transfers from one object to another are studied and applied to KAMMA gear flywheel power generation method.

“This method works like a sponge that can absorb water, and that absorbed water can be squeezed whenever necessary, KAMMA gear flywheel too can absorb rotational kinetic energy, and this kinetic energy will be used whenever necessary,” he added. Dr Chaganti have three decades of experience in designing pollution free green energy generation and storage concepts. “I have decided my entire scientific knowledge and experience in building technology for the futuristic development of society.

This concept is my invention which happens to be the world’s first power generation technology which is based on fuel less power generation,” said Dr Chaganti. India is lagging behind to get patents for inventions. But, Dr Chaganti got the patent of his invention which is going to be a mode of future electricity generation concept. He also received positive response from Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) for this invention. PMO recommended this invention to Ministry of Power to incorporate ‘Flywheel’ in renewable energy sector.

“There is no information and technology available in any engineering institutions, universities and university libraries about this technology in all over the world,” claimed Dr Chaganti. This technology has capacity to generate power from 1 KW to 20,000 KW, from 2V to 66,000V, in single and three phase in AC/DC with 99 per cent plant load factor. It is the cheapest method of power generation technology in the world with lowest maintenance cost. The generation cost of 1 unit (Kwh) is below two rupees whereas the cost per MW is Rs 4 crore, he claimed.

According to Dr Chaganti, “This technology will cater needs of all sectors of the country.” “Every person and every house should have the benefits of this technology to make India a well-developed country and self-dependent country in power sector,” said Dr Chaganti. Dr Chaganti was in city with his invention to spread awareness about it. A large number of visitors including students, engineers and researchers got a look of the event on Tuesday.
