Muskan Kirar bags silver in Asian Archery Championship

Madhya Pradesh’s talented archer Muskan Kirar bagged silver medal in the compound women event of the Bangkok 2019 Asian Archery Championships (CQT for 2020 Olympic Games) being held from November 21 to 29 at Bangkok, Thailand.

The Indian team faltered in the finals of the championship and had to settle with silver medal in the Asian Archery Championship. India lost the final match by 214-231. The Indian team included Jyothi Surekha Vennam from Petroleum Sports Control Board, Muskan Kirar and Priya Gurjar from Rajasthan.
 
Korea stood at first position and scored 231. Muskan Kirar performed tremendously well in the competition. While in the quarter-final matches, Muskan scored 75, Priya scored 74 and Jyothi scored 77, in total 229 points were scored by the team to reach into the finals. The final match was held in between India and Korea on Wednesday where Korea stood as winner with a gold medal and India bagged silver with second position.
 
Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare Jitu Patwari gave best wishes to the talented player of Madhya Pradesh State Archery Academy Muskan Kirar. He praised her performance and said that the girls are making the State proud. While Director of Sports and Youth Welfare Dr S L Thaosen also congratulated Muskan and gave her best wishes.
