MIHAN Limited earns revenue of Rs 1,06,96,14,232 in 10 months

MIHAN India Limited (MIL) has earned a revenue of Rs 1,06,96,14,232 during the 10 months in the current year while total number of passenger that used Sonegaon airport here in the said period is above
25 lakhs. The information furnished  under RTI also states that private entity that has won the right of expansion of airport is granted four year period, commercial operations period.
 
The said time is for completing first phase of development work related to expansion of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport at Sonegaon. Under the expansion, MIL has proposed construction of second runway so that it can handle the growing air traffic. Although the flow of passengers at airport here is more or less static, the future growth of city could witness major growth and hence from that point of view the expansion programme is ayed by Maharashtra Government.
 
Abhay Kolarkar, a city based RTI activist, has sought information on various counts from MIL and one was about total expenses incurred so far in 10 months time of year 2019. The total expenditure during the 10 months period is about Rs 65,45,06,526, thereby giving about Rs 40 lakh profit to MIL which is not much to boast about.
About 12,92,106 passenger flew out of airport while the number of arrival is 12,77,297.
 
The revenue earned from landing of aircraft if about Rs 23,01,33,145 while Rs 40,09,835 from private planes and helicopters that made use of the facilities at the airport.
 
From parking of aircraft the revenue realized is Rs. 43,57,767 and collection of passenger service charge is Rs 46,69,52,133 under UDF and Rs 10,36,41,980 upto June 2019 under PSF (SC) and Rs. 2,01,28,468 through advertisements.
 
The other sources of revenue led to collection of Rs. 26,45,29,207 to MIL, however information from sale of air tickets was not available with the company.
 
Another head under which Kolarkar sought information was about land acquisition to which MIL’s public information officer (PIO) states that the process is still under way. At present the work about expansion of airport has not yet started.
