A pot decoration competition was organised by the Department of Biotechnology & Microbiology of Bhilai Mahila Mahavidyalaya (BMM) managed by Bhilai Education Trust, Bhilai.
The event was organised to commemorate the memory of foundation member of Bhilai Mahila Mahavidyalaya Late Bhumitra Gupta on his Birth Anniversary.
The students participated enthusiastically in this competition and displayed their talent with great enthusiasm.
During the programme memorable moments of the life of Late Bhumitra Gupta were recalled. In her welcome speech, Head of Biotechnology Dept. Dr. Bhavna Pandey said that her many memoirs are related to Late B M Gupta’s foresight, simple & mild nature as well as excellent administration.
Principal of Bhilai Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Dr. Sandhya Madan Mohan describing her own experiences during Gupta’s tenure, she praised his administrative ability and described him as a person full of administrative skills.
Present as the Chief guest of the programme Surendra Gupta, the son of Late Bhumitra Gupta and secretary of Bhilai Education Trust, recalled his father’s contribution and involvement in the establishment of Bhilai Education Trust as well as various
educational, social and religious institutions of the twin-city Bhilai-Durg. While paying tribute to his father Late Bhumitra Gupta on his Birth Anniversary, he described his father as visionary, tactful personality who always worked for the social interest throughout his life.
Late Bhumitra Gupta’s daughter-in-law and social worker, Neeta Gupta, daughter and teacher Hemlata Gupta and Dr Mohana Sushant Pandit, Head of the Department of Education of Bhilai Mahila Mahavidyalaya were present as Judges of the competition.
In the competition winners Ranjana Khetam stood at first position, while Bhanupriya and Disha Ganguly won the second and third prize respectively.
At the end of the program, the participants were honored by
the guests by presenting prizes and certificates.
