Dean of Chhindwara Medical College, Dr Raza passes away

Dr Haroon Khizir Taqi Raza, Dean of Chhindwara Medical College, acclaimed doctor in Jabalpur, died of cardiac arrest in Nagpur on Thursday morning at the age of 60. He was the son of late Roshan Raza and Mehboob Raza. A resident of 105, North Civil Lines, Ghanta Ghar, he was the most distinguished and recognised practitioner in orthopaedics discipline of medicine. He specially dealt with the spinal correction and bony deformities. He owned immense credibility in his field because of his experience, expertise and philanthropic nature.
Dr Haroon Khizir Taqi Raza was also known as a stem cell transplant surgeon. He was recipient of many awards and fellowship of national and international repute. During his six-year tenure as Secretary of Indian Orthopaedic Association, he was credited with bringing about sweeping reforms in the organisational set up making it very robust and democratic.
The result is that orthopaedics has become one of the most sought after careers by Medical Graduates in India. Over 170 presentations and publications are to his credit at international, national and state levels. He also gathered fame for his oratory skills and used to deliver lectures in various conferences organised around the world. Dr Taqi Raza will be laid to rest at Ranital Kabrastan in Jabalpur on Friday. His namaz-e-janaza will be performed in Zohar. Dr Raza leaves behind wife,Dr Kehkashan Raza, son Dr Shamikh Raza, daughter-in-law Dr Mehmooda Raza, daughter Dr Falaq Raza and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn the loss.
