A gold medalist student from Balod district has been running from pillar to the post for more than three years to get justice after she was declared failed in the BA LLB final semester by her alma mater in Raipur. The victim student, Anam Ali, alleged that her answer sheets were wrongly evaluated by Durga College. After her plea fell on deaf ears of the university administration, she had approached the Governor and Higher Education Minister of the state but to no avail. Now, she has urged the Chief Minister for his intervention in the matter. Anam staged a dharna at Budhatalab in Raipur on Thursday to draw Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s attention towards her grievance. Talking to The Hitavada, Anam said that she took admission in Durga College in the year 2013-14 and was awarded gold medal for her outstanding results in the first year in Hindu Law subject.
“I was shocked to see my marks in the third semester examination. I could not believe the mark I obtained in this examination despite the fact that I had done well. The same trend continued in next semester examinations and finally I was handed over a failed mark sheet,” said Anam while pleading for justice. Further, Anam said that she knocked the door of the then vice chancellor of PRSU several occasions between 2015 and 2016 and requested the Governor and Higher Education Minister of the state, but she got no results. “The then deputy registrar of PRSU Ravis Das used to tell me that her answer sheets were missing when I applied for the copy under the RTI,” she said. Anam said that she had approached PRSU Vice Chancellor Dr K L Verma, but she did not receive satisfactory response from him. When contacted, Dr Verma said that he has received information about Anam’s case and has already provided the answer sheets to the student. “I am out of station at present and will examine the matter thoroughly as soon as I join the university. I will ensure student does not suffer if her case is genuine,” said Dr Verma.
