Murder accused Haider involved in drug peddling arrested

The sleuths of Crime Branch have arrested a man from old city area for possessing arms on Tuesday, told police on Wednesday. The 30-year-old accused, Haider Ali was arrested for possessing arms and he was being quizzed for keeping weapon. His father Hasan Ali is a driver by profession. The news was abuzz that he was allegedly hatching a conspiracy to assassinate former chief minister and other political leaders. Though, the reports were later rubbished by top police officials and told that he has spoken such things with a person Asif over phone but in the later investigation it came to fore that he was under influence of liquor at that time.
 
He was arrested from Jinsi Square in Jahangirabad by a joint team of Special Task Force (STF) and Crime Branch. Haider, was earlier booked in Sagar for murdering a man and was on the run in a case of drug peddling and he was involved with Shruti Sharma, daughter of Vidhan Sabha Secretary. The sleuths of Crime Branch were tipped about him hiding in Jinsi square and the team swooped upon him on early Wednesday and he was brought and quizzed.
 
Though the reports of assassination of leaders was not confirmed by any police officer and when contacted DIG Irshad Wali, SP (STF) Rajesh Bhadauriya and Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime Branch) Nischal Jharia denied it and told that he was arrested under a routine drive following inputs of illegal firearms smuggling.
