MP Police to be developed as most hi-tech force in country: CM

Chief Minister Kamal Nath said that efforts will be made to make the police force of the State as the most technology-rich in the country. In this respect, there will be no shortage of funds in budget. The Chief Minister said that challenges for police force are increasing. Crimes in new forms also emerged now. Terrorism also keeps changing its forms. Crime also keeps changing its form from one state to other and one district to other. Hence, the police needs constant surveillance and competency. He further mentioned that police is a face of the government and it is also essential for the police force to protect values, while doing the job of protection and security in the society. He said that India is a country of values, culture and civility. Unity in diversity is a cultural identity of our country. Whether it is police force or any other force, they all are symbol of diversity. With only one objective, Jawans of various communities, religions and sects shoulder their responsibilities in unity, he added.
Nath further stated that how to adopt the ever changing technology is a challenge before the police. When challenges keep changing, then it is also must to use latest technology to face them. It has become necessary to adopt technology like facial recognition, he added. Mentioning about the achievement of police in his welcoming address, the Director General of Police V K Singh said that 18 police personnel have been given out of turn promotion for their courageous and brave acts. As many as 70 lakh people have received help through Dial 100 service and Naxal problem has been brought under control. Senior police officers, medal winner police personnel and their families were present on the occasion.
