Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Wednesday inaugurated Kapil Nagar, Pardi and Wathoda police stations. The new police stations will help the cops to rein in increasing crime in outskirts of the city. MLAs Krishna Khopde, Dr Milind Mane, Joint Commissioner of Police (Joint CP) Ravindra Kadam, Additional CPs B G Gaikar, Nilesh Bharne, Shashikant Mahawarkar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Neelotpal, Gajanan Rajmane, Vikram Sali and others were present on the occasion.
 
Addressing the function, said that the State Government had spent Rs 900 crore for overall infrastructure development of city police. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnvais had put special efforts to improve policing in the city.
 
“The new police stations would ease working pressure of Jaripatka, Kalamna and Nandanvan police stations,” he said and praised police personnel for putting check on criminals. “The city police have managed to bring down crime in the city,” he said. Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Parshuram Karyakarte, Police Insepctors Matte, Sunil Chavhan, Chairman of Standing Committee Pradip Pohane, Pandurang Mehar, Corporators Balya Borkar, Chetna Tank and others were present during the programme.
