Shashank Shekhar, on Monday, assumed the charge of Advocate General of Madhya Pradesh. A number of legal fraternity members, senior administrative and police officials welcomed the new AG. After assuming office, Shekhar said it would be his endeavor to ensure justice to all. He said it would be his priority to curtail pendencey of cases. He said that entire team of advocates at AG office would toil hard to fulfill the priorities. A number of advocates and members of legal fraternity were present on the occasion.
They welcomed the new Advocate General, who extended gratitude to Chief Minister Kamal Nath, for giving the big responsibility. He also extended gratitude to MP Rajya Sabha and former Additional Solicitor General Vivek Krishna Thankha for his blessings and support. It may be noted that after the demise of former Advocate General Rajendra Tiwari, the State Government had given the charge of officiating Advocate General of Madhya Pradesh to Shashank Shekhar.
On Sunday, the Law and Legal Affairs Department released an order regarding appointment of Shashank Shekhar as AG of Madhya Pradesh. Shekhar return to city on Monday and assumed the charge. He is the youngest AG of the State. He was born in Jabalpur on February 6, 1973. He has completed his schooling and college from the city only. He completed Law degree from Rani Durgawati University, Jabalpur. He got enrolled in the High Court in 1998. He was appointed as Panel Lawyer in the year 2001. Amongst those present on the occasion were Divisional Commissioner Rajesh Bahuguna, IG Police Vivek Sharma, Collector Bharat Yadav, SP Amit Singh and others.
