Heavy downpour of awards conferred upon six Bhavan’s jewels
Pointing out, the foundation of character-building is laid in schools and teachers are largely responsible for building the moral character of young minds, Banwarilal Purohit, Governor of Tamil Nadu, and Vice President, Trustee, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mumbai and Chairman, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Nagpur Kendra appealed, “Teachers should understand their fundamental responsibilities and try to imbibe values like honesty, discipline and integrity into students.” Bhavan’s Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir, Civil Lines, hosted the ceremony, for conferring the awards instituted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Bhavan’s Shikshan Bharati, at the hands of Banwarilal Purohit.
In the same function Purohit addressed the gathering. Purohit proudly shared that under the excellent leadership of all the Principals, and with the whole-hearted support of teams of committed and professional teachers, a lot of initiatives have been introduced and successfully implemented in the schools. In his speech, Purohit spoke about contribution of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan towards education in India and abroad and the special role played by it in nurturing its students to become cultured and well rounded personalities globally.
On this occasion, Banwarilal Purohit cited a verse from Matsya Purana ‘Dasa Putra Sumo Drurna’ which highlights the vital role of trees in ecology and implored the audience to plant trees to eradicate the burning issues of environment and give salvation to the future generation. He also urged one and all to curb the growing menace of plastic. He appealed that each and every teacher of Bhavan’s must get involved with this objective and transcend it to the future generation. Vandana Bisen, Principal, Bhavan’s, Ashti, was felicitated for being the recipient of CBSE Teachers Award 2018 in the Principal’s category instituted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE); Anju Bhutani, Principal of Civil Lines branch clinched the coveted Jindal Best Teacher Award 2018; Manisha Sharma, PGT (Biology) Bhavan’s Srikrishna Nagar, was honoured with the Bhavan’s Jindal Best Teacher Award 2018 and Vivekanand Solanki, PGT (Computer Science) Bhavan’s Srikrishna Nagar, bagged the Bhavan’s Jindal Best Teacher Award 2017, at the hands of Banwarilal Purohit. These enterprising teachers have truly carved a niche in the history of Bhavan’s Nagpur. The happy evening also saw prodigals Kshitij Lakade, student of Bhavan’s, Srikrishna Nagar and Rujuta Purohit, a student of Bhavan’s, Civil Lines, being honoured by Banwarilal Purohit, with the exalted Kulapati Munshi Best Student Award 2018, for their illustrious track record of academic and non-academic achievements.
