World Bank team visits Kanker school to review ‘Poshan Vatika’

A four-member team of World Bank recently visited Kanker district and assessed ‘Poshan Vatika’ setup in Pre-Metric Tribal Boys Hostel, Pandripani by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) of Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV). The four-member team reviewed the model of integrated farming setup in the tribal hostel to meet the need of regular vegetable supply and evaluated its impact. As many as 20 separate varieties of vegetables are being organically cultivated in ‘Poshan Vatika’ of the hostel.
Impressed by the impact of ‘Poshan Vatika’ in the hostel, the team praised hostel authority and officials concerned of KVK, Kanker and reviewed other activities of the hostel. Earlier, a team of United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has also visited the pre-metric tribal hostel to see ‘Poshan Vatika’.
