Vice-President of India Venkaiah Naidu will inaugurate All India Oriental Conference (AIOC) being hosted by Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University (KKSU) on Friday, at 10 am at Kavivarya Suresh Bhat Sabhagruh. A great admirer of Sanskrit language, Naidu will also open the centenary celebrations of the convention. Governor of Maharashtra and Chancellor of the Universities in Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari will preside over the inaugural event. Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray and Chairman of the welcome committee of the convention; Union Minister Nitin Gadkari; Guardian Minister Dr Nitin Raut will grace the occasion as special guests.
Besides these, organiser of the event and Vice-Chancellor of KKSU, Prof Shrinivasa Varakhedi, Chairman of convention; Gautam Patel, General Secretary; Prof Saroja Bhate and Organising Secretary, Prof Madhusudan Penna, and Registrar of KKSU Prof Vijay Kumar would be the other prominent persons to share the stage. The AIOC would conclude on January 12. The three-day convention is completing its 100 years. Therefore, it happens to be a very rare occasion of combined celebrations of hundred years of convention and 50 years of organising the convocation.
The Vice-President would also unveil 100 books on the occasion of centenary celebrations during the convention ceremony. Alongside, a short documentary film on the topic ‘All India Convention for Oriental Studies’ would also be shown during the event. KKSU is unveiling the Stamp, Postal Cover and Envelop to commemorate the centenary celebration with the support of Postal Department in Mumbai and Nagpur. Immediately after the centenary celebration inaugural event, a special programme marking the Golden Jubilee celebrations will be held. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari would be the chief guest for this session. MLA Adv Ashish Jaiswal, Girish Vyas would be present.
Also attending this ceremony would be Vice-Chancellor of Vivekanand Vidyapeeth - Kolkata, Swami Atmapriyanand. Harishchandra Agarwal, Chief Officer (Post Master General), Postal Department also would grace the occasion. Vice-Chancellor of KKSU, Prof Shrinivasa Varakhedi would be the Chairperson for this ceremony. The main attraction of the event would be the keynote address by Prof Gautam Patel. Prof Saroja Bhate would also guide the assembled audience on the layout of the event. A lecture series will be inaugurated by Prof. Rameshchadra Pandey, Vice-Chancellor, Lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth, New Delhi under the Chairmanship of ex-Vice-Chancellor of KKSU Dr Pankaj Chande.
The inaugural lecture will be delivered by Sadhu Bhaderesh Das Swamiji on Akshar Purushottam Darshan. The three-day conference would see a slew of lectures delivered by various experts and orientalists on central theme of ‘Future of Oriental study and research’ for research students and attendees. Mahamahopadhyay Swamiji Bhadeshdas, Prof Arvind Rao, Prof Kutumbshastri, Dr Baldevanand Sagar, Suresh Soni, Prof Harekrushna Shatpathi, Prof Vasant Bhatt, Prof Shrikant Bahulkar, Prof Nagraj Paturi, Vijay Phanshikar and other scholars would address the sessions. India’s leading publications have gathered at one platform for three-day national books exhibition at CP and Berar College premises, Reshimbaag.
This is first ever books exhibition organized by initiative of any University in Nagpur. The inauguration of this exhibition would be done at the hands of Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Anatarrshtriya Hindi University Prof. Rajaneesh Shukla on Friday at 1.30 pm. Paper Presentations Sessions will also start on the same day in 17 sections. About 1,000 papers will be presented in difference sections by researchers, faculty members and students across the India, informed Prof Kavita Holey, Co-ordinator Paper Presentation Sessions. The sections Sanskrit Jounalism, Sanskrit pedagogy and Marathi literature, culture have been added newly from this session, added Prof Holey.
