13 schools of Nagpur district have been selected 
 
Maharashtra Government has decided to develop 300 Zilla Parishad schools in the State as ‘Model School’ to promote the education system in villages. The Government has selected one school each from 300 talukas in all districts including Nagpur.
 
A Government Resolution (GR) was issued on Monday in this regard. To finalise the list of all 300 schools, the Government had instructed all Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) to create the list of schools of their districts that got selected and inform the Government within 15 days. Selected schools will be distributed in three categories including basic facilities, educational quality and administrative structure and it will be improvised to transform into a better school. Independent toilets, drinking water, good school building, play ground, equipped computer lab, science lab, library, road connectivity from nearby villages are some improvements will be taken place under basic facility category of the initiative.

In educational quality, the administration will take care of educational atmosphere of the school. Teachers will provide learning beyond books and will provide more practical knowledge to students. The school will also take care of the attendance of every student. School will emphasise on reading and writing skills of every individual student for development of their knowledge. Creative thinking, critical thinking, scientific temperament, team work, communication and other factors will be encouraged among students by the school. The development of Zilla Parishad schools as Model School will attract parents towards such schools in future and this will be the moto of the project, the GR revealed.
 
The government is planning to emphasise on Activity Based Learning process for the development of the students. In administrative structure category, the government will provide proper training to teachers. Physical, mental and cultural development of students are the main objective of the initiative. The school administration will help to provide platform to every student for development of their writing, speaking, acting, singing and other skills for their better future. The district administrations can send their recommendation of any changes in the list before November 6 to the Government.
