The much-awaited immersion of Jabalpur Ki Maharani Mahakali culminated on Friday morning at Bhitauli Visarjan Kund, Gwarighat. The immersion procession of the idol started at 1 am on Thursday passing through various places 12 kilometres en-route to Visarjan kundm the idol finally arrived at Bhitauli Kund for immersion. The late night procession of Jabalpur Ki Maharani Mahakali kept administration on toes the entire night and employees finally heaved a sigh of relief after procession reached the Visarjan Kund.

 

En-route to the Visarjan Kund, adequate police bandobast ensured that there was no untoward incident. Immersion of the idol took place at 5 am. Members and office-bearers of pooja committee, taking gravity of guidelines issued by administration in view of COVID-19, extended fullest support on way to Visarjan Kund.

 

Earlier senior officers of the administration reached t Bhitauli at 3 am to take stock of the situation. During late night people belonging to various sections of society came out from their homes on path of Visarjan Kund to bid adieu to the deity and large number of people adhering to physical distancing performed Aarti of the idol to seek blessings.

The peaceful immersion of idol at Visarjan Kund brought a sight of relief to the administration. ASP Amit Kumar , who constantly remained in contact with the procession, expressed thankfulness for the support offered by members of pooja committee.
