Cops raid hookah parlour in Lakadganj

Lakadganj Police, on Friday night, busted a hookah parlour in the parking space of an apartment in Wardhaman Nagar and rounded up nine persons. In past eight days, cops have taken action against two hookah parlours. Rahul Maknikar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, got a tip-off that Rocky Hookah Parlour was being run in the parking space of Honey Sagar Apartments in Wardhaman Nagar area. He asked Lakadganj Police to conduct raid. Accordingly, the police team conducted raid and rounded up nine persons. However, the owner of the parlour escaped.
 
The cops also seized material worth Rs 6,600 including tobacco, hookah etc. According to police, the accused included Rajeshkumar Dubey (40), a resident of Deshpande Lay-out; Sanyam Jain (19), a resident of Tulsi Nagar; Akshad Jain (19), Anchit Deshmukh (27), Ayush Mehta (26), residents of Itwari; Harsh Jain (19), a resident of Satranjipura; Mohd Sufiyan Mohd Idris (21), Zahid Akhtar Nasim Akhtar (24), and Arslan Ansari Harun Ansari (24), residents of Mominpura.
 
All were booked under Sections 188, 269, 270, 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC); Section 51 (b) of Disaster Management Act; Section 2 of Epidemic Diseases Act; and for violation of COVID-19 guidelines and norms framed by the Government of Maharashtra All were later released on bail. Sunil Raut, Police Sub-Inspector; Bhojraj Bante, Pradeep, Mangesh and other personnel conducted the raid under the guidance of Narendra Hiware, Senior Police Inspector; Rajendrakumar Sanap, Police Inspector.
