Students appear for NTSE exam with covid-19 norms

On Sunday, a number of students appeared for the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) 2020 organised by National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) at their designated exam centres following covid-19 protocols in the State capital.
 
This was the first stage examination which will be held at state level in the country. The Stage-1 NTSE examinations were conducted by the respective state education boards. The students who are studying in class X of the Government or private schools appeared in the examination. The examination was held following the precautionary measures against the pandemic. The Stage-I exam was held in all the states except Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands on the day.
 
The exam consisted of two papers; first paper was Mental Ability Test, MAT which was held in morning shift from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and second paper was Scholastic Ability Test, SAT which was held from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. The time duration for each paper was allotted 120 minutes. After the Stage-I examination, the 2nd phase examination will be held at the national level on February 7, 2021. The state level selected students who cleared stage-I NTSE exam will be eligible to appear in the Stage-II examination. The scholarships are awarded to the students based on their overall performance in both the stages of the examination.
