Sukma District Collector Vinit Nandanwar and Superintendent of Police (SP) Kanhaiya Lal Dhruv held meeting of villagers in Kistaram which is considered as forte of Naxalites in the district. Since Salwa Judum campaign started in the year 2006, this area had become almost inaccessible and keeping this in mind, the visit of the Collector and the SP to the area and meeting with the villagers after long 14 years can be considered as biggest achievement for the administration and police department.

The problems and possibilities in the area were discussed with the villagers. The villagers urged the District Collector and the SP to make arrangement for solar light, pond deepening, proper arrangement for paddy procurement. In response, the officials assured the villagers of fulfilling the demands soon. The district administration and police department officials reached Kistaram by helicopter as part of their initiative to bring back development. The officials also inspected the hospital building, school and ashram buildings under construction.
