Calling the incident that took place at Hinganghat where a young lecturer was set ablaze, as heinous, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said, “I am pained by it. She was fighting with the death. But alas! She died. I have instructed the machineries to investigate the matter as quickly as possible. The case would be run on fast track court.” Chief Minister on Monday expressed pain over the incident. “I can understand the mental condition of relatives of the woman and the people of Daroda village. I have asked investigating agencies to take efforts so that the accused should get severe punishment,” pointed out Thackeray.“Maharashtra is known for respecting women. We will not tolerate the things which would damage the image. We have to revisit our culture of honouring the female,” added Chief Minister.
Job to victim’s brother: Anil Deshmukh Home Minister Anil Deshmukh himself has visited at Orange City Hospital when he received the news of death of Hinganghat victim. The relatives were saddened by the death of their family member. Deshmukh assured the job would be provided to the victim’s brother in Government set-up. He also said that the case would be run on fast tract court and Adv Ujjwal Nikam would put the side on behalf of Government. Government would take efforts so that severe punishment would be given to the accused.
State in shock: Dr Nitin Raut “The death of Hingaghat victim has shocked Maharashtra. She has fought with death but we all are helpless before the destiny. I, on behalf of State Government, pay condolence to the woman. I and the people of Maharashtra are with the victim’s family in their grief. State Government would take all efforts so that law would punish the accused severely. It is responsibility of the Government to take care of thevictim’s family,” commented Dr Nitin Raut, Guardian Minister.
Family of victim should get justice: Nitin Gadkari “The family of victim should get immediate justice. We must learn a lesson out of the incident and it is the need of the hour to bring strict laws in women’s cases. If we bring strict laws then such incidents would never take place. I expect strict (Contd from page 1) action by Maharashtra Government,” said Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
No woman should face such situation: Devendra Fadnavis “The incident where a woman was set ablaze at Hinganghat is a blot to entire State. Government and we too should take steps so that no woman should face such situation again,” expressed Devendra Fadnavis, Leader of Opposition in State Assembly Devendra Fadnavis.
Punish the accused within a month: Bawankule “Everything is open and clear before the public. One youth with perverted mind has set ablaze the woman. The woman died now. I demand the accused should be given severe punishment,” said Chandrashekhar Bawankule, former Guardian Minister.
Maharashtra ashamed: Gajbhiye “The death of the woman who was set ablaze by a youth at Hinganghat has given the feeling of shame to everybody in Maharashtra. The state runs on the thoughts of Mahatma Phule, Shahu Maharaj and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. The unfortunate death is a blot to the State. Mahavikas Aaghadi Government will take all efforts so that such incidents would never take place. I pay condolence to the aggrieved family,” stated Prakash Gajbhiye, MLC.
The volunteers of ABVP raising slogans demanding death sentence to Hinganghat accused.
ABVP stage demos Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad has demonstrated at Maharajbag square demanding the severe punishment to Hinganghat accused. Vijaya Chikhalkar, Head of ABVP called the incident unfortunate that took place on the land where Jijamata took birth. ABVP warned the authorities, if justice delayed to the victim then the student outfit would agitate in big way, said Amit Patel, Secretary of Nagpur Mahanagar unit.
No mercy to accused: Datke Criticising sharply as the accused with perverted mind has crossed all limits, Pravin Datke, Nagpur City BJP President demanded that the person who did this heinous crime should be hanged.
