Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital observes Congenital Heart Defects Awareness Day
World Congenital Heart Defects Awareness Day, was celebrated in a very unique way in Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital, Nava Raipur Atal Nagar.

A rally was taken out from Ganesh Temple to Navagaon Panchayat office passing through the by lanes of the village.
Doctors, Nurses, staff members, patient attendants and school students took part in the rally. Breakfast was distributed to 87 students of Navagaon Primary School and Aanganwadi Kendra.
In the awareness meeting held in the Panchayat office; the Doctors from Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital told about the different causes, importance of early identification of CHD and its timely management in Hindi and local Chhattisgarhi language. An Awareness skit on Congenital Heart Defects was presented by the Post Graduate students of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Nursing & Allied Health Care Sciences. Another group of the students performed a musical performance on hand hygiene. Sai Protein, multi-nutrient packets were distributed to the pregnant women and children.
Shrimati Pushpa Yadu, the newly-elected Sarpanch expressed her gratitude to the Doctors and staff members of the Hospital. Women, children and school students in a good number attended the meeting.
On the same day, the quarterly unique event namely “Sanjeevani Sitara” was held in the Hospital. These were 12 Alumni patients in the age-group of 13-19 years from Odisha. They had come with their parents.
These Sitaras are out of 1105 patients from Odisha who had been operated for Congenital Heart Diseases at Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital, Raipur so far and are leading a healthy life now. The event aims at motivating them about selfless service, mission of the Hospital and providing career guidance to the children along with their parents. The Doctors and Hospital personnel from different department like Pharmacy, Media, HR, Bio-Medical Engineering, Nursing and Physiotherapy etc guided them about different career options.The Book on the life of the eminent freedom fighter of Odisha Veer Surendra Sai was gifted to every invited child. Sessions on Art, Motivation and on Human Values through video were parts of the event also. The main attraction was the Gift of Life. The invited children, designated as guests, presented Gifts of Life to the patients being discharged after successful surgery totally free of cost. These cured patients were from 5 States of India namely Bihar, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh.
The families shared how
the gift of life received at this Hospital completely transformed their lives.
