Congress govt trying to attack BJP’s ideology, will be dealt accordingly: Sharma
Newly-appointed State President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Vishnu Dutt Sharma took charge in the presence of senior party leaders at BJP office in State capital on Monday evening. He arrived in Bhopal by a train and received a warm welcome from party leaders and workers.
After taking charge at party office, newly-appointed BJP State President Sharma thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Party’s National President J P Nadda for showing faith in him and handing over the reins of Madhya Pradesh BJP unit to him.
Stressing to strengthen the organisation under the guidance of senior leaders, V D Sharma lashed out at Kamal Nath government by telling that State Government is trying to attack BJP’s ideology and target its workers. He dared Congress government either to change its course or BJP would dig deep to overthrow the Congress regime from State. He alleged that Congress grabbed power by speaking lies and duping youths. He also charged Congress government of stopping many public welfare schemes like Kanyadan which were started by previous government.
V D Sharma also said that as a State President he has to learn many things under the guidance of senior party leadership. He assured party leadership that the work left out by outgoing state president Rakesh Singh will be taken ahead by him.
Ex-CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan congratulated V D Sharma on becoming new State chief of BJP and assured him full co-operation. Taking a dig at Congress, he talked in veiled manner about the ongoing cold war between Chief Minister Kamal Nath Singh and Jyotiraditya Scindia by telling that one Congress leader is threatening to hit the roads and another is telling what kind of co-ordination as it is he who is the state president and CM as well. “Congress is a unique party which is witnessing pitched fight,” he told.
Mincing no words in criticising Congress, he told that Madhya Pradesh government is bent on to break all records. “Collector is slapping and great leaders like Shivaji, Rani Kamlapati are being insulted.. Kamal Nath government is nibbling State like kite and crow,” he asserted.
Outgoing State chief Rakesh Singh said that when he got the news that V D Sharma has been named as new State President, he was at his house in Jabalpur and he got sweets distributed out of happiness. He hoped that his successor VD Sharma will take party to new heights.
He also lambasted on Congress led State Government by alleging that previous schemes of BJP government have been stopped by Congress government and atrocities against BJP workers have increased.
He too assured VD Sharma of full co-operation. BJP’s National Vice President Prabhat Jha told that it is a mere a chance of luck that all those who are sitting on dais are senior leaders and a younger one has got the reins of party in hands and now all seniors are going to work under his direction. Union Ministers Narendra Singh Tomar, Thawar Chand Gehlot also assured V D Sharma of full co-operation from their side. On this occasion, Leader of Opposition Gopal Bhargava, ex-union minister Satyanarayan Jatia, ex-minister Dr Narottam Mishra, BJP Organisation General Secretary Suhas Bhagat, ex-Governor of Haryana Kaptan Singh Solanki, Faggan Singh Kulaste etc were also present.
