Youth attacked with sharp-edged weapon

A youth was attempted to murder while another sustained grave wound after being attacked with sharp-edged weapon on the issue of walking with a girl near Phoenix Office in Ratan Colony under the jurisdiction of Gorakhpur police station. The accused has been identified as Rajveer Anand, son of Manpreet Singh Anand, MIC Member, Jabalpur Municipal Corporation and resident of Gorakhpur.
According to Gorakhpur police, receiving the information of a clash in Ratan Colony area a police team reached the spot and learnt that the injured was rushed at Metro Hospital. Police reached at hospital where the injured named Maman Deep Singh (21), resident of near Nagpal Garden informed that he is student of B.Com-IInd year student at GS College. Late night on Saturday, he along with his friend Maman Chaddha reached at Ratan Colony and standing near Phoenix Office where Rajveer Anand arrived and started abusing him for talking with a girl. Before he learnt their intentions, the accused took out a knife and attempted to kill him.
The accused stabbed his both thighs with a knife. His friend Maman Chadha tried to protect him but the accused also wounded his thigh with the knife. Accused Rajveer Anand threatened him to life and managed to escape from the spot. Acting on the complaint, Gorakhpur police have registered a case under Sections 307, 294 and 506 of the IPC and started a search for the accused.
