2-day NIDACON-2020 begins

The annual conference NIDACON-2020 of the Indian Dental Association (IDA), Nagpur branch, was inaugurated on Saturday. The installation ceremony of IDA Nagpur branch and cultural evening also marked the first day of the two-day conference at Naivedyam NorthStar. Dr Ashok Dhoble, National Secretary of IDA, inaugurated the conference in presence of Dr Nitin Barve, President of IDA Maharashtra. In the 10th edition of NIDACON, 600 delegates including practitioners, post-graduate and under-graduate students across Central India, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh are participating.
 
Dr Dhoble hooded the batton glorifying 100 years of dentistry. He said that IDA Nagpur would contribute greatly towards progress of dentistry. Dr Barve focussed on contribution of IDA for nation-building by focussing on programmes like ‘Swachh Mukh Abhiyan’ pan-India. Internationally acclaimed speaker Dr Muchhala delivered prestigious Dr I C Dudhani oration. He focussed on the concept of predictable aesthetic with ease, strength and success. Dr Nrupal Kothari spoke on dental implants, Dr Kunal Shah on digital dentistry, Dr Jose Thomas on composites.
 
Dr Pradeep Shetty and Dr Vinod Kumar simplified complex root canal in their lecture. Dr Avinash Kshar spoke on smile design and occlusal splints, Dr Ritika Arora on botox and derma fillers, Dr Kevin Agrawal on prevention of musculo-skeletal disorders and occupational hazards of dentistry. Dr Girish Bhutada was installed as President and Dr Poonam Hudiya and Dr Anshul Mahajan as Honorary Secretary and Treasurer respectively.
 
The executive members included Dr Deepak Kamdar, Dr Abhay Kolte, Dr Anil Chaudhari, Dr Manoj Chandak, Dr Jaya Joshi, Dr Sandip Fuladi, Dr Zubair Kazi, Dr Krishnakumar Lahoti, Dr Vaibhav Karemore, Dr Ketan Garg, Dr Vivek Thombre, Dr Mitul Mishra, Dr Mangesh Phadnaik, Dr Rohit Mude, Dr Yash Agrawal, Dr Ganesh Bajaj, Dr Geetika Soni, Dr Purva Poshattiwar, Dr Rashmi Tonge, Dr Kiran Savkare, and Dr Praful Shuddalwar. Dr Tushar Shrirao spoke about the conference. Dr Hudiya proposed a vote of thanks. In the six hands-on courses, practitioners and students got enriched with advanced techniques of dental practise from fillings to dental implants. There were more than 200 scientific presentations including paper, e-poster, and table-top presentations. Fifty stalls for Tradefair with International and National brands showcased modern dental equipment and products.
