RTMNU postpones all exams till 31st

Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) has postponed all its examinations till March 31. This will affect 4 lakh students who were to appear in 187 examinations. There was a demand from the colleges to postpone the examinations. Most of the colleges had pointed out that suspending classes only would affect students’ studies if examinations were not postponed. In a circular issued by Dr Neeraj Khaty, Registrar of the University says all written and practical examinations will be postponed till March 31. The examinations from April 1 will continue thereafter.
 
The circular further said that all the teachers of all the colleges, departments and conducted colleges can work from home. If needed Vice-Chancellor, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Deputy Registrar, principals of the colleges, Deans, directors, teachers, heads of the departments have to join offices. Common Entrance Tests conducted by State CET cell are also put on hold till March 31. Students whose classes are not conducted have been advised not to roam unnecessarily.
 
They will get themselves isolated in hostels or wherever they stay. If they are found roaming outside they will be asked to go home. Facilities like library, earn and learn scheme, gym, garden, guest house and all the sports facilities are closed down till March 31, the circular states. University has also prohibited the entry of visitors in its premises till March 31. People going for morning or evening walk have been requested not to come till this period. University will allow only university officers and staff to enter the premises after examining their identity. 
 
VNIT too suspend classes Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) has also suspended its classes till March 31. Dr P M Padole, Director of VNIT told ‘The Hitavada’, “Apart from closure of classes we have postponed the examinations also. Students have been asked to vacate hostels. We have also brought restrictions on students and visitors in campus movements. The morning and evening walkers have also been asked not to enter till further notice. Those who come to VNIT are allowed entry after their temperature is checked. Their sanitisation is also done.”
