Aiming to deal with situation of radiological emergency, patrolling vehicles of Raipur Police have been equipped with Mobile Radiation Detection System (MRDS). To detect any presence of radioactive materials and activities in public domain, patrolling vehicles of Raipur Police have been equipped with GO-NoGO equipment under MRDS. GO-NoGO equipment under MRDS have been installed in patrolling vehicles of Amanaka, D D Nagar, Saraswati Nagar, Pandri, Purani Basti, Tikrapara, Kotwali, Gole Bazaar, Civil Lines and Telibandha police station.The project of installing MRDS is already operational in 54 cities across the country by National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), New Delhi. Chhattisgarh’s capital Raipur has also been selected for the project under which police personnel will be equipped and trained to deal radiological emergency.
 
On March 4, police personnel were informed and trained about the use MRDS in situation of radiological emergency. On the occasion, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shaikh Arif Husen, Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Prafull Kumar Thakur, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Lines) Manishankar Chandra and others were present.Meanwhile, DSP Chandra gave detailed information about radiological emergency management to personnel at police lines.
