Several Non-Government Organisations (NGOs), Hospitals, and others coming forward to donate food items, medicines, Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). Neuron Hospital also came forward to help doctors and paramedical staff. The hospital donated sanitizer, PPE to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). NCP Youth wing The youth wing of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has distributed sanitizers to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGGMCH), Super Speciality Hospital.
President of Youth wing Shailendra Tiwari told ‘The Hitavada’, “Our young inspirational leader and MLA of Karjatjamkhed Rohit Pawar has sent 700 litres of sanitizers from Baramati Agro Limited. He has specifically asked us to distribute it to Government hospitals. Accordingly, we have handed over 200 litres of sanitizer to Trauma Centre, 100 litres to IGGMCH, 200 litres to Nagpur Municipal Corporation and 200 litre to Nagpur Police. 500 litres of sanitizer has been given to district administration of Chandrapur through its Collector Kunal Khemnar.”
The activity was done under the leadership of Salil Deshmukh, senior leader of NCP and Zilla Parishad Member. During the distribution those present were Dr Sajal Mitra, Dean, GMCH, Dr Avinash Gawande, Superintendent, Dr Mohd Faisal, Dr Kanchan Wankhede in GMCH; Dr Ajay Keolia, Dean, IGGMCH; Dr Sagar Pande at IGGMCH; Dr Fulpatil of Super Speciality Hospital and others. NCC Alumni Assn of Dr Ambedkar College While almost everyone is trying his level appropriate and best to lend a helping hand to the affected people due to corona outbreak in the nation, Alumni Association of NCC Cadets, Dr Ambedkar College, Deekshabhoomi too have joined the noble work.
The alumni from 2004 batch onwards are joined on a whatsapp group and many of them have not seen each other too but the spirit of ‘unity and discipline’ that also happens to be the motto of the cadet organisation keeps them all bound together. An initiative started by two senior cadets, Suresh Shende (Tax Consultant, Nagpur) and Milind Meshram (with Maharashtra Police, Nagpur) and former Associate NCC Officer Dr Shailesh Bahadure received immediate and prompt responses from many of them. Cadets not only donated cash but also grains, sugar and tea packets for the needy.
With a special permission sought from the Police Department, in a safe manner, maintaining social distance, foodgrains and other grocery was donated to the labourers in Subhash Nagar, Trimurty Nagar and adjacent areas. Cdt Pravin Badole, Cdt Manish Tambe, Cdt Rahul Butke (Now serving in Territorial Army) and Cdt Madhuri Warudkar-Shende and many others contributed funds for this noble work. Dar-e-Arqam Education Trust Dar-e-Arqam Education Trust and Congress providing Food grain packets to the needy. The management and staff of Dar-e-Arqam Education Trust and workers of Congress (Nagpur West) took a joint initiative in offering a helping hand to the needy people and labourers during lockdown period in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak.
Foodgrain packets consisting of Atta, Rice, oil, pulses and Masala were distributed to the needy people in Petasur, Nirmal Nagar(Gorewada)Sangam Nagar, Swagat Nagar and New Godavari behind Arqam Public School, New Gandhi Layout, Jafar Nagar. Team rendering the noble service includes Azhar Sayyad, Secretary, Dar-e-Arqam Education Trust, Akil Ahmad, Joint Secretary, Saquib, Irshad, Umar, all staff of Arqam Public School and Ram Kalambe, Congress General Secretary (Nagpur West) and Rizwan. Republican Sena Republican Sena has distributed food items to needy people in the city. The organisation is giving breakfast to daily wage workers at Kamptee Road daily. This activity is being conducted under the leadership of Sagar Dabrase, Republican Sena, Maharashtra State President.
