District Collector Ravindra Thakare while talking to a reporter of local TV channel appealed Jamat people to cooperate by staying at homes, not hiding information, appearing for sample test, etc., for coronavirus. “Day by day the coronavirus cases in city are on the rise. Today also nine people tested positive. Most of the cases now are coming from the areas like Mominpura, Bairagipura, Satranjipura, Dalalpura, Hansapuri, etc. I appeal people of these areas to stay in homes, not to come out. Administration is doing its work in a scrupulous manner.

Administration also has to handle pressure considering the vastness of the issue,” Thakare made it clear. There are several other departments working hand in hand to fight with coronavirus that include health department, police department, civic body, public health, medical education. Officers, other staff from administration, health department, police are working 24X7 to curb the menace of coronavirus in city. “But that doesn’t mean that people should move in the open. In fact they should behave like a responsible citizen. If people don’t cooperate, the system would have to press harder to get things done. Unfortunately, people are behaving as per their whims and fancies.

The cases that are coming positive now are from Jamat and those whocame from Delhi. Considering that aspect we requested Abdul Bari Patel, Maula Hafiz Masood Ahmed, Hafiz Abdul Rashid and Zakir Khan of Aman Foundation to appeal citizens to cooperate. These leaders supported us. On their appeal also some people reacted,” informed Thakare. “I have only one concern about rise in number of positive cases and that should not increase further. Everybody has to be very careful.

I appeal to all, cooperate with administration. We are taking all care at our every quarantine centre. Our health workers are working day and night. Administration is finding close contacts, high risk contacts and arranged for their quarantine at the official centres in a proper manner. Nobody should hide the information, come forward if they have any close contact with any positive or suspect. It will help administration to bring control else all will have to suffer,” said Thakare.
