BANCHRAOUDA village in Arang Development Block on Friday felicitated at the national-level with Nanaji Deshmukh Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha Puraskar 2020 by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India for the year 2018-19.
The award was presented to the Banchraoda village Gram Panchayat for its outstanding contribution to the socio-economic development involving Gram Sabhas. The award is presented each year on the National Panchayati Raj Day observed on April 24.
Congratulating the people of the village for the national award, Sarpanch of Banchraoda Krishna Kumar Sahu said that the credit for the national recognition goes to the significant contribution made by the people of the village, guidance of District Administration and District Panchayat CEO Gaurav Singh.
The Joint Secretary of Ministry of Panchayati Raj informed the selection of Banchraoda village for the prestigious award to the Principal Secretary of the State through a letter. The village of Banchraouda was already in the limelight for its cow dung diyas. Local women Self Help Group made verities of beautiful diyas last year and received state as well as national-level recognition. Krishna Kumar Sahu said that the achievement by Banchraoda village will be an ideal reference for the other village across State. The dedication of all village people from younger generation to women and inspiration of the elderly has given the village a national recognition, he added.
