TRAFFIC Branch of the City Police has taken a unique initiative by organising an orchestra on a mobile stage in different housing societies across the Second Capital to entertain citizens with old and new hits appealing them to stay home during the nationwide lockdown. The week-long event aimed at fighting COVID19 pandemic organised under the supervision of Commissioner of Police Dr Bhushan Kumar Upadhyay and Joint Commissioner of Police Ravindra Kadam was launched by Deputy Commissioner of Police (T raffic) Vikram Sali at Variety Square on Saturday morning.
The star attraction of the inaugural show, organised with the assistance of Vidarbha Kalakar Sanghatna, was Guiness record holder Rajesh Burbure. He had made a world record by non-stop singing songs from Bollywood movies for 80 hours. His daughter Dhanashree and son Vaibhav presented patriotic songs. Dhanashree was one of the participants in Indian Idol show. RJ Miss Sonali, who compered the inaugural l show, expressed gratitude towards COVID-19 frontline warriors, including police personnel, doctors, para-medical staff and sanitation workers, and appealed to citizens to strictly adhere to lockdown orders and maintain social distancing.
A few artists from Chitrakala Mahavidyalaya made paintings. Rangoli art and wrote slogans appealing people to stay home. Senior Police Inspectors Ajay Malviya, Atul Sabnis, Parag Pote, Roshan Yadav and other officers and staff of Traffic Branch were present on the occasion.
