LPG leakage controlled at Bhopal Railway Station

Gas leakage was detected on a goods train carrying LPG on Saturday at Bhopal Railway Station. Railway officials claimed that leakage was minor and they controlled it immediately with co-ordination of district administration. After the leakage was notices, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Uday Borwanker took quick action and contacted district administration for fire brigade and rescue team for safety concern. Four fire brigade teams, officers, police and rescue team reached the spot and controlled the situation within 45 minutes. Public Relations Officer (PRO) I A Siddique said, “Goods train carrying LPG gas was heading towards Bakania, 20 km away from Bairagarh station.
 
The gas was being sent to oil company plant. We were reported leakage in the LPG container around 11.30 am. It was minor leakage and situation was controlled with quick action of DRM and district administration.” According to sources, the train was originating from Thupur in Karnataka. Gas leakage was noticed at Khandwa station in wee hours of Saturday. The leakage was repaired at Khandwa station under observance of district administration and police team. When the train reached to Bhopal, gas leakage was again reported. 
 
Alert Bhopal railway guard rewarded

Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Uday Borwanker on Saturday feted railway guard P K Singh of Bhopal division with cash prize of Rs 2,000 to honour his dedicated service and alertness. P K Singh was the first guard who immediately came into action after noticing the gas leakage from goods train wagon. Singh was on duty at the station when train reached the Bhopal Railway Station. He immediately informed the control room office and asked concerned officials to halt all trains on the route.
 
His alertness prevented possible tragedies due to the LPG leakage at station. Taking quick action on the report, DRM Borwanker contacted District Collector Tarun Pithode to arrange fire brigade, rescue team and seized the entire area to avoid any kind of fire incident. He also called the Bakania LPG plant officials where the train was heading to control the situation. Team of engineer and officials from Bakania plant reached to the station within 20 minute.
