COMMISSIONER of Police (CP) Dr Bhushan Kumar Upadhyay on Monday visited the camp near Panjri Toll Post and interacted with the migrants stranded due to lockdown. From the Panjri camp, these migrants were being repatriated to their respective states.
 
City Police chief Dr Upadhyay assured them that the administration would send them to their native places after completing the necessary formalities. So far, city police have sent more 10,000-12,000 migrants to Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and other states from the camp. Non-Government organisations are providing meals and other essential commodities to the stranded migrants.
 
Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Nilesh Bharne, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone IV) Nirmala Devi, ACP (Ajni) Marathe, Senior Inspector (Beltarodi) Vijay Akot and other officers also were present on the occasion.
