Under Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Pump Yojana, the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) will repair three or five HP capacity solar water pumps and replace them completely free of cost in case of technical failure during technical failure, storms, hailstorms or other natural calamities. A press release stated that the state was at risk of heavy rains and hailstorms. Heavy rains and hailstorms have lashed many places.
This includes the possibility of a solar agricultural pump or solar panel malfunctioning. As per the rules, immediate action should be taken to repair or replace the faulty solar agricultural pumps free of cost. This order was given by State Energy Minister Dr. Nitin Raut. The scheme was launched by the state government to supply electricity to the farmers of the state through day to day and sustainable energy. MSEDCL has been appointed for the implementation of this scheme. According to the scheme, the tender process has been completed for setting up 25,000 solar agricultural pumps in the first phase and the remaining 75,000 in the second and third phases. At present, MSEDCL has fulfilled the objective of the first phase and has commissioned 25,000 solar agricultural pumps of three and five HP capacity across the state.
The work of remaining 75,000 solar agricultural pumps is in progress. As per the agreement signed by MSEDCL with an programme implementing agency, a guarantee period of five years has been fixed for maintenance and repair of solar agricultural pumps installed for farmers and 10 years for solar panels. If the solar agricultural pump or solar panel malfunctions during this warranty period, it will be the responsibility of the concerned agency to repair it free of cost or to replace the solar agricultural pump completely.
Therefore, no charge will be levied by the concerned farmers for repairing or replacing the solar agricultural pump in case of malfunction of the solar agricultural pump due to the ongoing torrential rains or other natural calamities. Farmers should lodge a complaint if solar agricultural pump malfunctions or if the solar panel malfunctions, call toll free number 18001023435 or 18002333435 or 1912 of the 24X7 call center or the nearest MSEDCL office. MSEDCL will send the complaint to the concerned agency and take action to repair or replace the solar agricultural pump.
