Around 25,000 milk producers in sixteen districts of Jabalpur, Rewa and Shahdol divisions contributing milk to Sanchi Dugdh Sangh would be benefited with Kisan Credit Card Scheme. Recent inclusion of animal husbandry in agriculture sector as part of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Campaign’ by Union Government has opened new avenues of development for farmers. Divisional Commissioner Mahesh C Choudhary informed that scheme has been implemented to encourage additional income in farmers’ families by engaging members in different works.

For this, the Union Government has given financial support in form of KCC under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Scheme. NABARD DDM, Sandeep Dharkar said that farmers, who are caring after even two bovines or more for milk production and supplies to Milk Co-operative Society, Sanchi, would be benefited with KCC scheme. The district-level committee would fix the credit limit and need of farmers based on his existing capacity. The minimum limit is Rs 2 lakh while the upper limit for the credit to a general milk producer farmer is Rs 3 lakh with rate of interest on credit used to some waiver benefits.

CEO, Sanchi Dugdh Sangh, Jabalpur, K K Maheshwari said that from June 8 onwards, the survey for registration of farmers is being carried out on mission mode. Many of the farmers are already having KCC facility and they just need to enhance credit limits. At present the Sangh has listed 25000 registered milk producer farmers.
