Khamtarai Police arrested a youth red-handed while he was attempting to break-in to a shop on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. The Police also recovered two stolen motorcycles from his possession. According to the police, teams of different police stations were looking out into the cases of motorcycle lifting and other cases of thefts. Mujgahan Police had laid traps for catching the thieves.
On Wednesday night, 3 men were attempting to break the shutter of a shop when a team of Khamtara Police Constables Tilak Sahu and Suraj Dahariya apprehended him on the spot. Two of them fled from the spot while one nabbed.
The accused caught was identified as Deepak Soni, a resident of Khamtarai. He confessed of thefts along with his two accomplices Suraj Chauhan and Deepak Manikpuri. They had stolen 2 motorcycles with the help of pick-up truck. Both motorcycles CG/04/LP/4117 and CG/04/MV/ 5636 worth Rs 80,000 and 5 bags of washing powder and a Tata Ace pick-up truck CG/04/HX/7626 were seized and an offence under Section 379 of IPC was registered.
