DMIMS, Wardha secured second spot among medical universities in Maharashtra
Nagpur’s Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) stood 27th in the ranking of National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management (RCOEM) topped in Maharashtra among all private engineering colleges. Ministry of Human Resources and Development (MHRD) has released the ranking on Thursday in which institutions of Nagpur and Wardha figured with top ranking.
Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences (DMIMS), (Deemed to be university) Wardha secured second spot among medical universities in Maharashtra. Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Government of lndia has constituted a National lnstitutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) which evaluates and ranks the colleges and universities on the national level since 4 years. RCoEM stood first in Maharashtra amongst all private engineering institutions.
The college also figured in the overall category in the Band 151-200 section. It also secured 11th position among private engineering institutes in the country. Other institutions found place in NIRF include DMIMS that topped Vidarbha among medical universities and second in Maharashtra, Smt Kishoritai Bhoyar College of Pharmacy, Kamptee is amongst the three colleges of Vidarbha in the national ranking Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur secured 40th position while Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) stood at 60th among management institutions in the country. YCCE and GHRCE both secured 139th rank while Laxminarayan Institute of Technology, the conducted college of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) ranked 144th among engineering institutions in the country. University’s Post Graduate Department of Pharmacy improved its position as it secured 33rd rank. VNIT improved its ranking as it secured 27th rank. Last year it stood at 31st.
Dr P M Padole, Director of VNIT attributed its success to mentor Vishram Jamdar who is Chairman of Board of Governors and the initiatives taken by the institute throughout the year. Diamond Jubilee celebration was the programme to be remembered by everybody. It also marked the unveiling of Sir M Visvesvaraya bronze 10 feet statue and beautification and landscaping of the campus. The beautification and landscaping, football ground, renovation of canteen at the hostel were all sponsored, planned and executed by the alumni of VNIT. Vishram Jamdar, announced the setting up of a Center of Excellence in collaboration with Siemens.
Department of Metallurgical Materials Engineering VNIT bagged the prestigious research project from National Mission on Advanced Ultra Super Critical (AUSC) Power Plants and received funding close to Rs 20 crore. Under the leadership of Dr Padole, and Vishram Jamdar authorities organised two days clean and green campus drive wherein 700 people voluntarily participated in the mission. In the latest NIRF ranking announced for 2020, on Thursday, by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, VNIT Nagpur surged 4 places ahead to 27th position as against 31st last year. Similarly RCoEM that is consistently performing in all sectors has become number one choice for all the aspirants. It keeps scaling new height in all sectors including sports, academic excellence, placement etc.
The college is the known name as far as NIRF ranking is concerned. Smt. Kishoritai Bhoyar College of Pharmacy, Kamptee that stood among the three colleges of Vidarbha in national ranking is now a renowned name in Pharmacy education for its teaching-learning methodology and research endeavours. It stood 48 among the pharmacy colleges. Dr Milind Umekar expressed his joy and was happy for the 48th rank in lndia. He gave all credit of success to the guidance of President Kishoritai Bhoyar, Secretary Suresh Bhoyar and acknowledged Dr Brijesh Taksande, college coordinator.
