Maharashtra Government has permitted holding of marriage functions in banquet hall, marriage hall, non-air conditioned halls, open place, lawns and at home. In a communication addressed to all Divisional Commissioner, Municipal Commissioners and District Collectors, Kishor Raje Nimbalkar, Secretary, Department of Disaster Management, Relief and Rehabilitation, Maharashtra State, has said that since monsoon has started permissions be given for organising of marriage functions at public places. So far there was ban on such permission leaving the organisers in lurch as at many homes space was quite small even for holding function with restriction of 50 persons.

Also due to rainy season holding functions at homes was a big problem owing to varied problems. Similarly, the owners of marriage hall had petitioned Government seeking withdrawal of ban as it would putting them in hardships even as establishment cost keep rising.

The communication from Mumbai however said the organisers and well as lawns, banquet and hall owners should ensure that all the guidelines of social distancing are followed strictly. The maximum persons who can attend the marriage function should not cross 50. So in case citizens comes with request for holding function in halls then same be granted.
