Police Deptt to recruit 4,269 constables soon: Dr Mishra

MINISTER for Home Dr Narottam Mishra said that 4,269 constables will be recruited in the Police Department soon. He directed Director General of Police Vivek Johri to start the recruitment process of police constables at the earliest. Dr Mishra granted approval for recruitment of constables after getting the file of vacant posts of constables from the Mantralaya. Constable recruitment process in the Police Department was on hold since last three years.
 
Total 4,269 constables are to be recruited under the process. He further mentioned that vacant posts of constables in the department should be filled soon and promotion process of departmental officers should also be initiated as per rules.
 
Minister Dr Mishra was reviewing activities of the Police Department at the headquarters on Friday. He exhorted the officers to work with alertness and promptness to maintain law and order in the State. Dr Mishra also emphasised on upgrading cyber crime technology and strengthening Social Media Cell. He directed to prepare a proposal for the same. Dr Mishra mentioned that he should be apprised about the progress. He stated that together with the DGP, necessary budgetary provisions for police modernisation should be discussed with the Finance Department. Dr Mishra also asked to present a proposal related to construction of police hospitals on the lines of Army hospital.
