Quarantined: Tiger ‘Saran’ in quarantine cage of Van Vihar National Park.

In October 2018, the tiger had attacked and killed two people in Amravati district of Maharashtra
A young male tiger of Kanha Tiger Reserve (KTR) has been brought to Van Vihar National Park on Saturday morning. When the cage was opened, tiger stepped out roaring and then ran inside the quarantine cage. The tiger was kept in famous Ghorela enclosure of the reserve. The tiger had earlier entered Betul district of State from Maharashtra. In October 2018, the tiger had attacked and killed two people in Amravati district of Maharashtra.
In December 2018, the tiger wandered from the track and entered to district Betul. In December 11, 2018, the tiger was rescued from Sarani area of Betul and released in wild of Satpura Tiger Reserve. Officials said that the tiger is habitual residential area and he was frequently moving towards residential areas from Satpura. Again on February 10, the tiger was rescued from Sarani area and enclosed at Ghorela enclosure of Kanha for training purpose. Finally, authorities decided to keep the tiger in enclosure as he has became habitual of human being. The tiger has been renamed as ‘Saran’ at Van Vihar. With the arrival of this tiger, Van Vihar has currently 14 tigers. The tiger has been kept in quarantine for 14 days in the park.
