Priya Devi Suthar from Bhavan’s B P Vidya Mandir, Civil Lines second in Commerce as she scored 98.6 per cent marks

Like what happened in rest of the country, in Nagpur too the girls outshone the boys in Class XII (Senior School Certificate Examination) examination conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) whose results were declared on Monday afternoon. Divya Suchak, the girl from Centre Point, Wardhman Nagar branch secured overall top position as she scored 99.2% marks. She also stood topper in Commerce stream.
Ketki Moghe from Bhavan’s B P Vidya Mandir, Srikrishna Nagar topped the Humanities stream with 98.6% marks, Arunav Bhowmick of Centre Point School, Katol Road branch secured first position in Science stream by scoring 98%. Priya Devi, a student from Bhavan’s B P Vidya Mandir, Civil Lines stood second in Commerce as she scored 98.6% marks. Aashna Chopra who scored 97.4 per cent secured second position in Science. Aashna’s twin sister Ridhima, too, came with flying colours. Both are students of Centre Point School, Katol Road. Khushi Patel, a student of Bhavan’s B P Vidya Mandir, Srikrishna Nagar, with 96.8% marks stood second in Humanities. Last year, number of schools and number of examination centres in the country increased. In 2019, there were 12,441 students and 4,627 centres. In 2020, number of schools increased to 13,109 and examination centres to 4,984.
There is a decrease in appearance of number of students this year than last year but pass per centage has improved. Last year 12,05,484 students appeared while this year the number goes down to 11,92,961. If one compares the number of students passed last year and the number this year then there is a increase of 5.38%. Last year 10,05,427 students passed while this year 10,59,080 students are declared successful.
This year the pass % is 88.78 which is better than last year which was 83.40%. Girls have done better than boys last year too. In the year 2019 girls’ pass per centage was 88.70 while this year their pass per centage is 92.15. Boys pass percentage in 2019 was 79.40 while in 2020 it is 86.19%. The pass per centage of transgender was 83.33% in 2019 and 86.19% in 2020.
