Durg, A stray dog, who was severely injured in a road accident in township at sector-9, Bhilai and left for dead with broken spine has been given a new lease of life by an animal welfare organisation. The rescue team members comprising a few veterinarians not only treated the injured dog but also ensured he walks again despite becoming partially paralysed.
 
A video from Youtube also encouraged the team members with the help of which they ensured the dog walks again. After getting injured in the accident, both back legs of the dog had lost sensitivity and owing to his paralytic state due to the broken spinal cord, the dog was also unable to walk. On getting information, the rescue team treated the injured dog while with the help of PVC pipes and two tiny tyres, they built a structure supporting the back portion of the dog with the help of which he is able to walk again and roam freely on streets.
 
Team member Deep Saraswat, working for animal welfare for the past three years through the organization Pawan Animal Welfare Society, Durg said the team included Abhishek Rajput, Nihal Sharma, Naveen Kashyap, Luv Chakradhary and Ayush Bairagi.
