Several faces from Nagpur and Vidarbha figure in the BJP State executive
The State executive of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced on Friday has several prominent names from Nagpur in particular and Vidarbha in general. Chandrashekhar Bawankule, former Energy Minister of Maharashtra, has been appointed as one of the five General Secretaries of the party in Maharashtra.
Dr Sanjay Kute, former Minister, has been appointed as State Vice-President. He is among 12 Vice-Presidents. He hails from Buldhana. The executive has two out of total 12 Secretaries from Nagpur. They are Adv Dharmapal Meshram, Chairman of Law Committee of Nagpur Municipal Corporation; and Archana Dehankar, former Mayor of Nagpur. Vishwas Pathak is Media In-charge for the State.
Along with the announcement of State Executive Committee, BJP has also declared appointments of District Presidents of Chandrapur city and rural, Bhandara, and Gondia. Pradeep Padole has been appointed as Bhandara district chief; Keshavrao Mankar (Gondia), Deorao Bhongale (Chandrapur Rural), and Dr Mangesh Gulwade (Chandrapur City).
Some of the prominent faces from Nagpur, Amravati, and Yavatmal districts of Vidarbha region have been appointed as Conveners of different cells or in other capacities in the State executive. From Yavatmal, Dr Ashok Uikey, former Minister of State, has been named President of ST Cell. Dr Anil Bonde, former Agriculture Minister, who hails from Amravati, has been named President of Kisan Morcha. From Nagpur, Sanjay Bhende has been named as Convener of Co-operatives Cell; Dr Kalpana Pande as Convener of Teachers’ Cell; Milind Kanade as Convener of
Economy Cell; Shyam Chandekar as Convener of Weavers’ Cell; and Jaisingh Chavan as Convener of Divyang Cell. Sanjay Fanje has been appointed as State Office Joint Secretary.
