According to information, during the Sunday Viraam, most of the streets wore deserted look despite the fact that Guru Poornima was celebrated on Sunday.

Vegetable and fruit shops also remained closed on Sunday to follow the orders of administration. Collector and District Magistrate Bharat Yadav, when contacted, said that in view of the fact that it was Guru Poornima, the Sunday Viraam was still successful.

He expressed thankfulness to the people of Jabalpur. On the issue of criticism against the fact that liquor shops remained operational, he said that liquor shops cannot be closed every Sunday as per contract policy. “If we close them, losses will have to be paid to shop contractors.
