JMC fines 100 people for spreading filth

Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) is continuously taking strict action against those creating unclealiness in the city. Accordingly, the health department and anti-encroachment department are conducting drive in all 79 wards of the city and dealing sternly with erring people. Health Officer Bhupendra Singh informed that senior officials of both the departments, on Monday conducted drive in a number of areas of the city and issued challan to erring people who were creating uncleanliness by throwing garbage on roads or have dumped construction material on main roads.
 
Senior officials issued challan to 100 shopkeepers and citizens and also realised spot fine of Rs 24,900. Singh said the civic body is making all efforts to maintain proper cleanliness in wards under all 16 divisions of the city. He said the health department is conducting special drive and ensuring proper cleanliness.
 
He said following the direction of Municipal Commissioner Anoop Kumar Singh, senior officials are taking strict action against the shopkeepers and general public who are throwing garbage on roads, drains or nullahs. Besides, the officials are also realising fine from citizens who dump construction material on roads and hinder traffic movement and add to uncleanliness at public places. Singh said both health and anti-encroachment department would continue the drive and take strict action against those creating uncleanliness within municipal limits.
