ACC, Jamul conducts plantation drive

ACC limited Jamul Cement Plant established in the state of Chhattisgarh (erstwhile MP) since last 5 decades and operating several mines in its vicinity. In an endeavour for the development of State and the country we believe in giving back to earth against the mineral that we extract. The one such initiative is to go green in the surrounding area of operation and we are committed to achieve the same. In recent times as a part of our mission not only in state of Chhattisgarh but also pan India, ACC’s presence and it initiative towards environment is a paramount and to achieve such steep objective we as a responsible organisation carry out plantation as a part of progressive mining.

This year in the mines operated by ACC viz. Nandini Kundini Mines, Medesara 17.90 ha and Medesara 8.80 ha, Pathariya Mines Company has planted around 2,700 saplings with combination of different local species with broad leaf, this is done by keeping local bio-diversity in mind. Having said that company has carried out plantation within mining lease 16,500 plantation till date since inception and whereas outside the mining leases 10,500 with a survival rate of 80 to 85% and species are local in nature like Neem, Karanj, Kahawa, Jamun, Kathal, Arjun, Omla, Mango, local babool, etc.

Maintenance of plant species are ensured throughout the year for better sustenance. Company has actively participated in the event of Harihar Chhattisgarh an initiative by C.G government for increasing the green cover in State. Management of ACC is very much committed for the cause and giving back to earth is what we believe in. By doing so, Support from local community is remarkable in creating awareness towards protection of environment and nature.
